WHO WE ARE
For 28 years the founders of Vital Connections have pursued a narrowly focused vision to develop, train and empower Christian leaders according to the specific exhortations of Ephesians 4: 12 and 13. The geographic areas of focus have been Zimbabwe, other African nations and various short term engagements in the US and Europe.
In 2005, at the urging of a group of church partners, Vital Connections sought and was granted section 501c3 status as a public charity by the IRS. The board has remained consistent in that the 5 original members still serve and others who have partnered along the way have been added.
CONSISTENT AND FOCUSED SERVICE
Vital Connections continues to serve and execute the original vision by:

Training local leaders to fulfill their call to service

Envisioning them with education, networking and focused seminars and conferences

Helping attain financial independence through micro-lending, skill training and the acquisition of productive assets

Funding facilities such as churches, schools, early childhood development centers, community centers and orphan care facilities

Providing aid for food, medical care and disaster relief that our communities do not have the reserves to address in their seasons of need

Fostering relationship and community across all those we touch

Identifying new opportunities and leaders to expand the Kingdom of God on earth.

RELATIONSHIP BASED MINISTRY
There is protection in relationship and accountability. An early illustration of the purpose of Vital Connections came from an image born of prayer and meditation. The vision was of a bunch of strings lying on the ground and the commission was to lift them up and tie them together in a mutually supporting network resting on the personage of Jesus Christ as the center post.
Ending our 28th year the strings are now many, covering scores of leaders, dozens of churches and many, many para-church projects and facilities. The Bible talks about Jesus as the Cornerstone of His church and Vital Connections derives structural integrity and ultimate direction from an identification with Him, Jesus, our Lord.
"to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ."
Ephesians 4:12-13
These and other ministries will be linked and introduced through Vital Connections. VC (Vital Connections) will offer donation accounting and accountability as well as financial development services, physical facilities for local Michigan ministries, coaching and “equipping” in the manner of the previous 28 years wherever partners request it. The purpose of VC’s broadened focus will be to help other ministries launch and survive through critical milestones with the help, advice and accountability of a stable and seasoned leadership team without having to compromise or subordinate their unique visions to that of another institution.
EXPANDING VISION
This first public announcement of our mission begins with the publishing of this website to signal a new season of expansion for Vital Connections. The original leadership development focus remains and defines the core competence of the organization developed over 28 years of practical field experience. The expansion can be seen in the various new organizations, visions and geographic outreach associated with these new organizations that are being served and equipped by Vital Connections. Worldwide evangelism, American community outreach and aid, church planting, rural African quality of life projects through community development programs, as well as youth training and agricultural empowerment projects in Zimbabwe are being launched by the following organizations with more to come. Something completely new in 2024 was a large financial investment in helping disrupt a major human trafficking and slave route in Asia. Nothing more can be said about that very dangerous operation except to say Jesus has made himself apparent and in His grace softened the hearts of the pimps and slavers to turn over their owned persons to the church. Miracles and wonders surround this worthy initiative of Holy Spirit.
